To succeed is a good thing. The feeling it brings is awesome; it leaves a sweet taste on your lips. Yes, it is a wonderful thing to succeed.
Wonderful as it is to succeed, success almost always is the death of many,
Some men who struggled to succeed are now no where to be found, they are now in the list of men who once succeeded.
They are now history; men once celebrated now begging for survival.
IS IT BAD TO SUCCEED?
Anyone who kicks against success is to be abhorred, avoided and everything close to avoidance. Success is the best thing that can happen to anyone. Never be deceived success is not bad or wrong.
It is the dream of anyone who seeks influence and a meaningful life to succeed.
THE WEIGHT OF SUCCESS
Success is a heavy burden to bear and only a few know this fact.
It is good to succeed but to remain successful, therein lies the work.
Many are they who have met with success and met their end. To some, success is their graveyard, their abrupt end. Success is as powerful as failure. The joy, the thrill of achieving success can cripple you and root you at a spot, no further movement.
Like failure comes with criticism so success comes with loads of accolades, criticisms and egoistic appraisals .
If success is not skillfully and properly navigated, the individual will make no further progress, let complacency set in and growth stunted.
HOW TO DEAL WITH SUCCESS
Since success is a must achieve as it will boosts your morale going forward in life, here are some ways I've recommended to deal with success.
1. TREAT IT LIKE ITS PAST
Success is a goal reached, an expectation achieved. So once achieved should be treated as a matter or thing of the past. Rudyard Kipling in his poem 'IF' noted that if you meet with success and don't loose composure, yours will be the earth and you'll be fully called a man.
2. TREAT IT LIKE YOU'LL TREAT DEFEAT
The awe of succeeding has a crippling effect on its victim. Just as failing is paralysing so also succeeding. Most times we get struck, left in shock or awe of the achievement that we loose strength to forge ahead, to conquer new grounds and territories.
