WATCH!!

Dear twenty something, it is with great joy I come your way again.  How is your walk with God? Is it going smoothly or have you like everyone hit the rocky patch? When you gave your life to Christ, heaven was happy, she rejoiced greatly and there was celebration ,a heavy one: it shows how special you are. Your walk with God is a delicate one and as such you should treat it delicately.  I feel the need to share with you today, certain things and areas of our Christian life we should watch over. We will treat this teaching in series so brace up and let's enjoy learning. Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.                                          1Pet 5:8 (NLT) YOUR HEART: The first area we should watch over is our heart. Prov 4:23 God was so particular about the the heart that ...

NOT TO COVER BUT WASH (The work of the blood)

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1:7 The blood of Jesus was shed for a reason, it was not shed to cover your sins, as anything covered remains, just awaiting an uncovering.  The devil is on an escavatory activity, he wants  to dig up your past mistakes and sin to hurt you or truncate your relationship with God that's why  Revelation 12:10 calls him the accuser of the brethren. God, fully aware of this fact, decided to send the blood of Jesus not to cover your sins but blot (wash) them off. Zechariah 3:1 holds the account of Joshua the High priest being accused because as at the time, they survived on the blood of bulls and heifers and the blood of bulls was only potent to the extent of covering sins and staying the execution of judgement for a while. Jesus came into the scene shedding His blood to cleanse, wash, erase and blot out your sins...

WITHDRAW AND PRAY

And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed. Luke 5:16 The gospels hold a vivid account of the life and ministry of Jesus and a constant mention was the fact that Jesus after major miracles, teachings and all will always withdraw to pray. Today's world is filled with activities, every corner is choked up and daily you expend energy spiritually. It is spiritual energy that burns when you overcome temptation, live right and display Christ and so on. As young Christians who want to effectively and constantly walk with God and work the works o the Father it is pertinent that we practice withdrawal so we can recharge. Jesus was obvious of the fact that we are a city set on a hill that cannot be hid, He himself gave us the express command in Matt 5 to let our light so shine before men that's why he gave us a pattern by which we model our lives; it is the model of withdrawal. LEAVE THE NOISE. One of the definitions  of withdraw is to leave a place. The noise of lif...

Practical Tips for Cultivating a Meaningful Prayer Life

Prayer, abused, misunderstood, misused. What has prayer not seen? Yet, prayer is one powerful tool of life.  We all pray, we all make requests. Everyday we talk to people and ask for things. BUT WHAT IS PRAYER? Prayer has a simple definition, it is talking to someone, it is making a request from a being superior to you.  The fact that we have needs and seek help every now and then means we must pray.  THE CONCEPT OF PRAYER I always cherish my frequent visit to the Court House on days I am able to.  When you enter the Court Room, you'll understand the concept of prayer better. When in the Court room, you'll hear the judge say 'let me hear your prayers' He/she is simply saying how can I help you. The judge is simply saying; 'you are in a fix, you have a heavy heart and no one is giving you a listening ear but I am here to listen to you.' Prayer was initiated because the frailty of human became too visible and as generation passed on, the need to maintain a consi...

BIBLICAL GUIDELINES TO BETTER LIVING

Everyone longs to have a better life, to be treated specially, talked to lovingly.  We all long to have a great and sweet life. For this sweet and loving life to be possible, we will have to live by certain guidelines. I tell people when I have the opportunity to that life will be sweet and enjoyable if we all strive to be nice to each other; but recently while studying my Bible, I came across these golden guidelines with which we should live our lives.  Shall we discuss?  Guideline 1: JUDGEMENT Judgement has dual definitions and most times when this word comes up we think only of the second definition which relates to punishment for a certain action. WHAT IS JUDGEMENT?  Judgement is the ability to make considered decisions or come to sensible conclusions. It is making considered decisions, putting ourselves in the shoes of others to know how they'll feel when we take that decision we are about to take.  This golden guideline is also found in the golden r...
