But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1:7
The blood of Jesus was shed for a reason, it was not shed to cover your sins, as anything covered remains, just awaiting an uncovering.
The devil is on an escavatory activity, he wants to dig up your past mistakes and sin to hurt you or truncate your relationship with God that's why Revelation 12:10 calls him the accuser of the brethren.
God, fully aware of this fact, decided to send the blood of Jesus not to cover your sins but blot (wash) them off.
Zechariah 3:1 holds the account of Joshua the High priest being accused because as at the time, they survived on the blood of bulls and heifers and the blood of bulls was only potent to the extent of covering sins and staying the execution of judgement for a while.
Jesus came into the scene shedding His blood to cleanse, wash, erase and blot out your sins. It was as a result of understanding this, apostle Paul could boldly say in 2 Cor 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: but the magic lies in the b part; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
When someone is washed, newness takes place, dirt is removed and a fresh beginning commences.
Now live your life knowing your sins have been washed away, no record of it remains.
Say these words with me,
My sins have been washed not covered.
I am a new man not a patched man.
My past mistakes don't count or matter,
I have been forgiven and made clean.
This is my reality and I walk in it.
