2 Most Powerful Ways to Clearing Your Mental Space

Getting yourself into gear for the new year is beyond writing out your new year resolutions and goals. You must clear your mind of the past years failures so you can be ready to take on new tasks and challenges.

The mind, our mind is likened to a house, where activities go on every minute. If someone is not walking from room to room, another is listening to some loud sounds, another may be talking, some people may be reading, others sleeping, another sweeping or doing laundry.

The mind is like this too. Minute by minute, thoughts come in seeking asylum, we remember things and take in new images for filing. To achieve maximum productivity this year, we must take time to clear our minds of its old memories. This is not to forget them but to remove the grip they might have on how we undertake new challenges and opportunities.

Why clear your mind?

We are in a new year, with new resolves, new goals, new plans. We all want to have a better year different from the previous one. As cobwebs and residues are detrimental to the habitants of a dirty house so are unhealthy thoughts detrimental to the mind and its owner. We must clear our mind to gain inner peace and momentum.

Let us look at two powerful ways we can clear our mental space.

1. Be Intentional

Know that your mental space has premium value than everything else. Everything about you is controlled by your mind. This space is a sanctum and must be treated as such. This intentionality will spur you to learn more about your mental health and its workings. Be intentional about creating a more relaxed environment for you.

2. Separate Assets from Junk

Know the things that have and adds value to your life. Strive to keep and improve these but the ones that have no importance, thrash them away. The inability to thrash (call it quits) or discard somethings is the greatest undoing of this generation. When a space has become crowded and jam packed, it is pertinent that the owner of the house sees to it that the space is cleared up and freed.

You can make a list if you need to. You would have to exit some relationships too. This will be the hardest and most vital step.

Prayer, abused, misunderstood, misused. What has prayer not seen? Yet, prayer is one powerful tool of life.  We all pray, we all make requests. Everyday we talk to people and ask for things. BUT WHAT IS PRAYER? Prayer has a simple definition, it is talking to someone, it is making a request from a being superior to you.  The fact that we have needs and seek help every now and then means we must pray.  THE CONCEPT OF PRAYER I always cherish my frequent visit to the Court House on days I am able to.  When you enter the Court Room, you'll understand the concept of prayer better. When in the Court room, you'll hear the judge say 'let me hear your prayers' He/she is simply saying how can I help you. The judge is simply saying; 'you are in a fix, you have a heavy heart and no one is giving you a listening ear but I am here to listen to you.' Prayer was initiated because the frailty of human became too visible and as generation passed on, the need to maintain a consi...
