THE GIFT OF DEFIANCE

How and when did you first hear the word defiance? I want to assume it was in a context of that person is nasty and defiant.

For years, we have focused on the negative definition of the word 'DEFIANCE' and as a result we are stuck at the limited versions of ourselves.

Society has always termed men who are defiant as proud. Imagine the things said of Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Aliko Dangote, and every other man who has led a defiant life; not stopping where people say they should stop, not tying themselves to the general belief system.

THE PATTERNS OF LIFE

Life gains pleasure in breaking you, it gets thrilled when you succumb to it as a slave does his master. Life, always wants things to go it's way not yours. That is why it creates a cycle or pattern which it ensures is followed accordingly.

Society has subtly created patterns across every sphere of life. There are places where you are not permitted to dream bigger than the scope you can see.

Something happened when I was growing up, a child told her mother "mummy, when I grow up , I will become a pilot, flying planes around the world."

The mother quickly slapped the girl's mouth, "don't say that again, never in your entire life should that thought come into your mind. You won't talk of riding bicycle, you are talking of aeroplane."  The child bowed her head and was disappointed in herself  for ever dreaming big.

You find young ones who should be exercising the power of their imagination to yield great results struggling with the already existing norm. These limiting beliefs and practices have become the new default setting.

THERE IS A WAY OUT

Yes! There is a way out. You can break free from the existing norm. Yes, you can. Why? Because you have a gift. You have the gift of the rebound, defiance. We can take this rebound and never stay down spirit to force our life into shape. You can.

1. DECIDE HERE IS NOT ALL YOU CAN BE

You carry possibilities within you. You are a horde of treasure just waiting to break out but you must see it. You must decide that this now you can see is not all you can be. You must not buy into situational lies. Get defiant. Refuse to give in.

2. TALK ABOUT THE FUTURE

Talk about this future you want to create. You may have seen it, now it is time to tell it to everyone who wants to hear or not. Speak your future. Saturate your atmosphere with words about the future you dream of. Don't permit otherwise. This process with be at odds with your family and friends but this is not you. You are different.

3. CREATE YOUR NEW NORMAL

It's time this generation creates a new normal. Create a new default setting for yourself. It will take time and will require lots of discipline but you can decide how you want to be remembered. Take the steps, go all the way.

Defiance is not stopping. It is not listening to the impossibility crooners.
