ARISE AND SHINE: Rising beyond mediocrity

I know what this sounds like, like a Sunday service message where the preacher is quoting from the book of Isaiah 60:1 "Arise and shine for your light is come." And the whole congregation will nod their heads in affirmation. Some one from behind will shout "Ride on pastor."

Alright, I sat and looked at certain stratas of power, influence, business etc and saw that young ones are living in the dark or shadows of who they are and should be.

This generation boasts of the highest number of intelligent youths than any generation ever. We are smart, fast thinkers, efficient, creative and everything close to excellence. Yet, we find ourselves down the pecking order of life.

The only place we find ourselves active and influential is behind our gadgets, on the internet space.

Are there avenues to display out inherent potentials? The answer is yes with a capital Y

LIFE IS EQUAL

Life gives to all men the advantage of equality: equal 24 hours, equal air to breathe. Every man is dealt equally by life, no man is cheated of these basics. What you do with it, is what improves or reduces your value.

No one has an extra hour added to the one you operate with.

ARISE!

The problem with the average youth of today is that they have refused to arise. Loaded with potential, information yet frustrated because  of the inability to arise.

Young ones spend time in blaming their parents, governments, society and life itself for the circumstances they find themselves.

Arise, throw away the garment of yesterday's disappointment, kick off the bowl of tears and regret. You've dwelt long enough with them, divorce them and arise.

The comfort you derive from blaming and cursing the externals is nothing compared to the satisfaction and content you'll get if you arise.

You can't see the opportunities littered around and the  great future before you because you are sitting at a spot covered with the darkness of grief and regret.

Arise to the fullness of you, arise and stop depriving the world of who you are.

Arise! Dearest one, Arise!

SHINE!

To rise is good, knowing how great you are, knowing the abilities trapped in you is wonderful but far beyond rising, is the shining part.

Don't be afraid of your abilities, shine!

If all youths irrespective of their demographic, ethnicity and religion shine the light (use the potential) inside them, the world would be better than how it is.

Shine, you are obligated to.

Shine, it's your civic responsibility.
